What are the Two Week Intensives?

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you sat down and concentrated on one specific aspect of your playing? Dedicated two weeks to one thing? Improving your sound quality, establishing a routine for mindful practice, or even improving your range with a guided practice session?

And how great would that be if you weren't alone? If a group of like-minded people came together with a great purpose? If you saw progress in your playing and was inspired by the growth of your peers?

In this new community activity, we bring together groups of ten who learn together and motivate each other to keep growing and improving over two weeks. You will be placed in a sub-forum that is only accessible to you, the other participants, and your guide!

For every Two Week Intensive, we will open a Sign-Up-Thread one week before the activity starts, where you can sign-up for the next learning period.

We are in this together! You will receive an exclusive assignment video by your teacher in your group forum, which you will work through to improve a dedicated aspect of your playing! Please post a short video or audio file twice a week on the topic of the Intensive and help your course partners through feedback on their submissions! There will be a Zoom check-in, where you can ask questions to your guide and peers!

To sum it up:

  1. Watch the assignment video by your teacher.
  2. Work on the assignments and post a text, audio, or video when you’re ready.
  3. Help others improve and comment on each other’s submissions with a helpful advice
  4. Get feedback from your guide
  5. Optionally check in with a Zoom Call

We will open public spaces for everybody who wants to follow along passively and watch the assignment videos!

Any questions? Let me know!

Hi Jose! We just announced one for Improvisation this morning. We will generally do them once per month on various topics!

Me gusta esta iniciativa, mi sueño es tocar en una orquesta sinfónica, que aspectos se deben cubrir para tocar aquí? Me gustaría tener una guía personalizada.

Hi Manuel! Forgive me that I don't speak Spanish, but I can translate your message and respond in English.
If you took the quiz after signing up, that will provide you with a Practice Plan. This will provide you with a sequence of videos that covers important all-around trumpet fundamentals.

In addition, I would recommend the following courses especially:

      - Troubleshooting Common Problems with Ryan Darke

      - Dynamic Control with Chris Gekker

      - Tone Production with David Krauss

      - Articulation with Caleb Hudson

      - Fundamentals for the Developing Player with Ben Gunnarson

      - Breathing Basics with Charlie Porter

      - Building Flexibility with Brandon Ridenour

      - David Krauss covers a number of important excerpts from opera pieces

For general orchestra repertoire and technique specifically, we have a very detailed course coming in January on this topic! For now, there is also a live stream with Noah Dugan on Audition Preparation -> https://app.tonebase.co/trumpet/live/player/tpt-audition-preparation-with-noah-dugan-live

Let me know if I can be of further assistance, or if you'd like to speak with a Spanish speaker!
