Show us your horn(s)!
What horn do you play on? Tell us where you bought it, for how much (if you’d like to share!), why you bought it, and how long you’ve had it. If you’d like, share a picture! Feel free to do the same with multiple horns if you got ‘em – Bb, C, Eb, piccolo, flugel – we want to see them all!

1967 Olds Mendez Bb bought from Austin Custom Brass. Awesome guys…Recommend them…sales process was smooth and no hard sell.
Im a comeback brass player and studied French Horn in my youth.
I like jazz & pop and will at some stage do gigs, so i decided on trumpet. This horn arrived about two months ago.
Awesome trumpet in beautiful condition. It was around $1600 usd.
I’ve always like the style and tone of the Olds Mendez & Olds Super Recording trumpets and the mendez is pretty cool with dual slide triggers.
I wanted a good trumpet where i couldnt blame the horn 🤣
I have a Bach 3C centenary mouthpiece in gold plate which i use all the time. The one in picture doesn't suit me but it is pretty 😊
At some stage i’d like to get a Bach C trumpet.

I have got a Yamaha Wayne Bergeron ( with a little KGU upholstering😀), which I bought three years ago and an Adams F2 flügel. I bought the flügel last year.

Trumpet: Benge 5X purchased new 1971. I've tried several others over the years but not found any I like better.
Flugel: Yamaha YFH 635T. Bought used so don't know vintage but was in like new condition when I bought it. Think it sat in a case for many years.
Cornet: Olds - The Olds model circa 1930's -
My main instrument is the Yamaha YTR 4335 that I bought on EBay for £310 a couple of years ago.
Next to it is my Elkhart Flugelhorn 100 FL bought new from The Wind Section in Edinburgh for £316 in 2022.
On the right, is my Bach Prelude CR710 which I bought for about £80 on eBay. It’s nice but I don’t play it much.
The gatecrasher on the left is a Besson International 739 trombone that my brother offloaded onto me. I love fooling around with it, enjoying those deep tones. (It doesn’t usually stand there - just for the photo)
They’re all on the box of a repro clavinette that my piano teacher offloaded onto me about 15 years ago.

Left to Right:
Yamaha 6345S. I've had this since high school 31 years ago. I think my parents paid around $1600 for it new. I plan on pass this onto my son as soon as he's ready for it.
1964 Olds Special. I paid $125 for it, plus another $600 for a valve rebuild. I've had this for about a year. Nice horn, but not my primary.
2014 Bach LT1901B, rebuilt by KGU Music. I paid $2250 for it about a month ago. They redid the lacquer and added their usual heavy valve caps and finger rings. This horn will replace the Yamaha as my primary.
1924 Cuesnon. Recently rebuilt and it plays very nicely. The intonation is of course a little tricky, as was the style at the time. I paid $1250 for it about a month ago.
Not pictured: 1925 Martin Dansant that I paid $250 for in unplayable condition about a year ago. It's currently in the shop being evaluated for repair. It may end up as a wall ornament, but hopefully we can get it playing again. I'll know more when the solder joints are repaired (several were leaking), and hopefully not find out it needs a valve job.
Not pictured: 1964 Hallmark Cornet. Pretty sure it's made by York. I paid $80 for it out of a storage unit last year sometime, and once it was repaired it plays nicely.

I have a Kanstul French Besson Meha, bought from Phil Parker’s in London in 1985. Large bore (0.470). It’s so beautiful. Doesn’t feel like a large bore though, it’s so easy to blow. Soft, it’s warm but louder and in the upper register it sizzles. Beautiful horn.
