What would you like to see on tonebase Trumpet?
Are there any artists or topics that you feel would be perfect for tonebase – that we haven’t added yet?? What’s missing? Was there anything you were expecting or hoping to see that we didn’t think of? Please share below! We’ll do regular check-ins of this sort every few months to encourage discussion.
Happy practicing!!

I’d love to see David Vining do a course on breathing / body mapping.
Also someone like Peter Bond do a more in depth video on flexibility, particularly on the mechanics of getting a fluid change of pitch. Brandon’s course is great but would be interesting to see more ideas on trouble shooting.

I would like to see content from Martin Angerer, Solo Trumpet of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. A musician with a great passion for the trumpet!

Real-Time MRI of trumpet players
There is a video of Sara Willis (French horn, Berliner Philharmoniker) on Youtube. You can see how the tongue and mouth position are used for different notes and articulations.
There are also such recordings in Eli Epstein's e-book.
I could imagine that it would be exciting to have such recordings of trumpeters as well. Perhaps the tongue would be used even more actively ...
The institute responsible is the Max Planck Institute in Germany: https://www.mpinat.mpg.de/626786/real-time-mri -
Also…when you get people in to do a video, I’d love to see them put a visualiser on their embouchure so we can see how they set up, and possibly use a tissue alla Greg Spence to see how much air they’re using!

A session with Gary Radke would be amazing as well, he has an incredible method for fitting a mouthpiece to a player…would be very helpful for lots of students
