Favourite Practice Apps?
Hey everybody. Just thought I'd ask about everyone's favourite practice apps (other than Tonebase, of course!).
There are the obvious big names like iReal & MuseScore but also little known gems like Music Scanner (which lets you scan sheet music and hear it played back) and TimeGuru (which is an amazing metronome that lets you build intricate rhythms).
For myself, my favourite is TU Tuner. It has drones, video and audio recording, a pitch analysis thing and a metronome all in one. Plus, you can set it to remind you when it's time to practice!

Good question Rico! I believe the app is "TE Tuner" as in Tonal Energy Tuner. Yes out of all the music apps I've used I find it certainly the most useful for practicing... (I'm not sponsored by them, I promise). You can create audio logs of your sessions, evaluate your intonation over time, use drones, and so much more. The metronomes are also really fun :)
Recently my favorite drone app has been iTabla Pro, which creates intricate drones using Tanpura, Sur-Peti, and Tabla sounds, with a lot of intricate drum loops you can put underneath it. It's my favorite way to practice improvising - picking a tonality and time signature and just exploring ideas for 4-5 minutes at a time. It's also excellent for practicing scales or any other passages in tune AND in time.
My favorite timer is Seconds, which is made for HIIT (interval training workouts), and you can use it to construct long practice sessions and ensure you use your time as wisely as possible.
Never underestimate Notes and Voice Memos. The simple tools often do the most, because you don't get lost in all the bells and whistles but stay focused on the process.
