What is your favorite etude book?
We’ve all probably spent our fair share of hours playing etudes. Is there a book – old or new – that stands out to you? It could be one of the old reliable books, or it could be something few people have heard of. Tell us why you like it, and what interesting musical challenges it presented!

I am a big fan of Thirty-Six Plus The Transcendental Studies of Theo Charlier
There is no end of challenges, and they are so very beautiful once I've learned them.

The books I use a lot are Charlier and also the Bousquet 36 Celebrated Studies book I worked out of in college.

Are those lessons on Tonebase?

I’ve been meeting a friend for years, and we always warm up with the duets from the Arban’s. They never get old. St. Jacome duets are also fantastic. Dauverne are very fun fanfares. The Rubank duet books volume 1&2 are also always in the rotation, too. Forestier, and Amsden also have some fun ones.
